Effort (work) can be placed on spectrum.
On one side foundational effort – a content that touches the raw material of life, content that cannot be substituted or easily generated, deep scientific research.
On the other side of the spectrum surface effort – it’s soft work, it’s repetitive, it’s easily learnable, it’s easy to substitute a person who is doing it
Examples
- Peter Singer is doing more foundational work. A journalist who is writing on him is doing more surface work.
- A cleaner v.s. Albert Einstein
