Reflected Best Self Exercise

How to do it?

Reach out to 15-20 colleagues, friends, and family members who know you well, and ask them to tell a story about a time when you were at your best. Analyze the common themes and create a portrait of your strengths through the eyes of others.

What is it about?

We not only have biases prohibiting us to see our weaknesses, but we have bias prohibiting us to see our strengths. There are things that we are good at and we might not even realize what are our core strengths. Adam Grant gives this exercise to all of his students. Later on many of them reflects that this exercise changed how they think about themselves, some refers that it changed their lives.
