Water is fire
Water feels innocent. When you pour a glass of water it feels soft and harmless. But when you experience experience a big wave collapsing on you, when you add all this soft particles together you understand that it is as dangerous as fire. If you are in a wrong spot the water can is as raging as a fire devouring a whole neighborhood. This is what fascinates big wave surfers. Being as close to this force yet not dying. And whatβs cool about water is that it has a very granular gradient of states. You can paddle out on a surfboard and be next to immense waves while being relatively safely on the side. There is no state of fire or solid matter like earth that you can be immersed in while getting close to its more intense states.
