It’s weird but if you create a container the process is more rewarding and more effective.
Think you have 10 minutes break and have time for some exercise. There are two parallel universes. In one you just do bunch of intuitive excercises. In second you have a timer that counts ten exercises that last 50s followed by a 10s break. You end up doing the same moves, rising your heart-rate for the same amount of time and resting for the same amount of time. My claim is that you will feel better in the second universe rather than the first one.
Why hypothesis:
- Breaks create an chunks that are easier to remember and referenced in our memory (we may experience we did more of the thing)
- If there is a goal and accomplishment the hunter gatherer reward system turns on
